Andre Johnson could be game-time decision for fantasy owners Sunday

Andre Johnson is still in the concussion protocol and could be a game-time decision for Week 15. We break down the fantasy implications.

Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Johnson is still in the league’s concussion protocol and might not be cleared in time for Sunday’s Week 15 game against the Indianapolis Colts. Johnson didn’t practice Thursday and is expected to be a game-time decision this week.

Johnson suffered the concussion in last week’s win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. He left the game after taking a hard hit from linebacker Telvin Smith in the second quarter. This is his second known concussion in the past two seasons. Johnson has 69 catches for 737 yards and two touchdowns on the season.

Fantasy impact: Unless Johnson gets better news over the weekend, he looks set to miss his first game since the 2011 season. If Johnson can’t go, DeAndre Hopkins will be the new No. 1 receiver and should see a boost in production thanks to his developing chemistry with Ryan Fitzpatrick. Even if Johnson gets cleared in time to play this week, he hasn’t been consistent enough to trust as anything more than a WR3 for the fantasy playoffs.
