A.J. Green suffers potential head injury vs. Steelers, questionable to return
A.J. Green left Sunday’s game after taking a big hit in a scrum for a fumble. He is being evaluated for a head injury, and is questionable to return.
A.J. Green left Sunday night’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers after taking a blow to the head late in the fourth quarter. Green turned the ball over on a fumble, then took a hard hit from Mike Mitchell while he was on the ground.
Green walked off the field under his own power. He is questionable to return after going to the locker room to be examined for a head injury.
Green left the game as one of the best players on the day between either team. He had eight receptions for 82 yards, and had seemingly made a big reception for a first down as the Cincinnati Bengals were driving for a score, before being stripped.
It was a bad game for injuries. Earlier, the Steelers lost Le’Veon Bell to a potentially serious knee injury. Both teams are already in the playoffs and will have to play next week in the wild card round. It would be a tremendous blow to both offenses if Green and Bell were forced to miss action beyond Week 17.
