San Antonio Spurs vs. Dallas Mavericks
The San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Mavericks square off in Game 7 on Sunday from the AT&T Center. The Spurs are -6.5 point favorites over the Mavericks with an over/under point total of 199.5
Head to head, the Mavericks are 6-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings and 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings in San Antonio while the road team is 9-4 ATS in the last 13 meetings and the underdog is 8-0 ATS in the last 8 meetings. The Spurs are 0-4 ATS in their last 4 home games, 0-7 ATS in their last 7 games following a ATS loss and 0-8 ATS in their last 8 games overall. The Mavericks on the other hand are 50-19 ATS in their last 69 road games, 20-6-2 ATS in their last 28 Conference Quarterfinals games and 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games overall.
What’s going on with the San Antonio Spurs from a betting stand point? Normally one of the better teams to place a wager on in the NBA, the Spurs have really struggled so far in these playoffs so far, failing to cover the spread against the Dallas Mavericks which now makes is 0-8 in their last eight overall. Furthermore, they are coming up against the Mavs team that has remarkably gone 50-19 against the spread in their last 69 road games. When was the last time you could remember a team going 50-20 ATS in their last 70 games away from home? Cause I can’t.
So can Dallas make it a perfect 7-0 ATS today? I think they can. Given how well they have played on the road basically all season and the fact that five of their last six games against the Spurs has been decided by six points or less, it seems like the logical pick. Let’s also not forget that the Mavs have also won by 21 in San Antonio in Game 2. I also think the over holds some value as four of the last five games in this series has eclipsed the 200 point mark, with the last two both going over 210 total points.
While it doesn’t bode well that the Thunder and Pacers won their respective Game 7′s with relative ease, Memphis was with without Z-Bo and Indiana was facing Atlanta, who had no business making the playoffs with teams like Phoenix sitting at home.
