Brooklyn Nets vs. Houston Rockets
The surging Brooklyn Nets play host to James Harden and the visiting Houston Rockets on Tuesday night. The Nets are -3 point favorites over the Rockets with an over/under point total set at 208.
Head to head, the Rockets are 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings and 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings in Brooklyn while the favorite is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings. The Nets are 20-8 ATS in their last 28 home games, 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 games overall. The Rockets on the other hand are 9-4 ATS in their last 13 games playing on 2 days rest, but just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games and 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600.
The Houston Rockets have dominated the Brooklyn Nets for quite some time now, but that might be all set to change tonight. See, the Nets have quietly been the best team in the Eastern Conference these past two months with Miami and Indiana both going through rough patches. Brooklyn has been especially dominate at home, winning 13 straight and 20 of their last 22 at the Barclays Center. The Nets have also covered the spread in 12 of their past 17 overall.
Although the Rockets are coming off a 118-107 home loss to the Los Angeles Clippers in their last outing, they too come into tonight’s game off the back of some good form. Prior to their loss on Saturday night, Houston had won five straight by an average of 22.2 points per contest, granted, all five were against lottery teams, bar Charlotte. On the injury front, Dwight Howard missed Saturday’s game against the Clippers with an ankle injury and will be out indefinitely which isn’t great needs heading into postseason action.
The Nets have been the most dominate home team over these past couple of months, so it’s pretty hard to look past them here. While Houston is no doubt a formidable opponent in their own right, they will be missing Howard tonight and I just don’t see them getting past a red-hot Brooklyn
