The Washington State Cougars and the USC Trojans face off on Thursday at Beasley Coliseum in Pac-12 college basketball. The Cougars are -4.5 point favorites over the Trojans.
The Washington State Cougars have lost seven games in a row and they are just a game out of last place in the Pac-12 standings. WSU is 2-14 in the Pac-12 and 6-7 at home this season. DaVonte Lacy is averaging 19.6 points to lead the Cougars. D.J. Shelton is averaging 9.9 points and 9.3 rebounds, Que Johnson is averaging 9.6 points, and Royce Woolridge is averaging 7.1 points. Washington State is averaging 61.8 points and they are shooting 40.4 percent while defensively they are allowing 66.9 points and their opponents are shooting 45 percent. Washington State is returning home from a three game road trip.
The USC Trojans have lost their last 10 games and are in last place in the Pac-12 standings. USC is 2-11 away from home and 1-15 in Pac-12 play. Byron Wesley leads the Trojans averaging 17 points and 6.6 rebounds per game. Pe’Shon Howard is averaging 10.9 points, J.T. Terrell is averaging 10.2 points, and Omar Oraby is averaging 8.3 points and 6.2 rebounds. USC is averaging 70.6 points and they are shooting 43.9 percent while defensively they are allowing 75.9 points and their opponents are shooting 43.2 percent. USC closes their season out on Saturday at Washington.
Washington State is 0-4 against the spread following a loss, 5-1-1 against the spread against a team with a losing record, and 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games against a team with a losing road record. USC is 10-21-2 against the spread in their last 33 road games, 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games, and 16-35-1 against the spread following a loss. The home team is 4-1-2 against the spread in the last seven meetings of these two.
I see the Cougars winning this fairly easy and covering the spread.
