Phoenix Suns vs. Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers take a trip to the US Airways Center to take on the Phoenix Suns tonight. The Suns are -8 point favorites over the Cavaliers with an over/under point total set at 211.
The Cavaliers have lost seven of their last nine games and will be hoping to avoid a fifth straight loss tonight after losing to the Knicks by 107-97 on Saturday. Kyrie Irving poured in 30 points, eight rebounds and eight assists while Spencer Hawes made four three pointers en route to 21 points, but with the game in the balance, the Knicks used a 14-1 run to seize control and run away with the win. With the loss Cleveland drops to 24-40 on the season and 15-17 at home, but they did receive a bit of a boost from the loss as Anderson Varejao returned from a 12-game absence and played nine minutes as he works his way back into shape.
Meanwhile, the Suns have lost three of their last four games and will be looking to bounce back from their 112-105 loss against the Clippers on Monday. Goran Dragic led seven players in double figures with 23 points while Markieff Morris and Gerald Green added 16 points each, but the Suns just didn’t have an answer for Blake Griffin who erupted for 37 points on 14 of 16 shooting, including 22 points in the first quarter. Frustrations boiled over as PJ Tucker and Griffin got caught in a wrestling match on the floor in the fourth quarter, but it only led to an ejection for Tucker which didn’t help the cause. With the loss, Phoenix drops to 36-27, just half a game behind Memphis for the eighth seed in the Western Conference.
In ATS trends, the Cavs are 5-2 ATS in their last seven road games and 0-4 ATS in their last four games overall, while the Suns are 8-1 ATS in their last nine games against a team with a losing record and 5-1 ATS in their last six games overall.
Head to head, the Cavs are 5-0 ATS in the last five meetings in Phoenix and the Under is 8-1 in the last nine meetings overall.
I think the Cavs keep this close and cover the number but don’t win the game.
