USC Trojans vs. Utah Utes

The USC Trojans and the Utah Utes face off on Thursday in Pac-12 college basketball. The Utes are -3.5 point favorites over the Trojans with an over/under point total set at 141.
The USC Trojans are having a tough go of it this season and they are in last place in the Pac-12 standings. USC is 1-9 in the Pac-12 and 8-4 at home this season. Byron Wesley leads the Trojans averaging 17.3 points and 6.8 rebounds. Pe’Shon Howard is averaging 10.4 points, Omar Oraby is averaging 9.0 points and 6.5 rebounds, and Nikola Jovanovic is averaging 8.3 points. As a team USC is averaging 71.8 points and they are shooting 45 percent while defensively they are allowing 75.1 points and their opponents are shooting 42.4 percent. USC has lost their last four games.
The Utah Utes have won their last two games and they are in seventh place in the Pac-12 standings. Utah is 5-6 in the Pac-12 and 0-6 away from home. Delon Wright is averaging 16 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 5.4 assists to lead the Utes. Jordan Loveridge is averaging 15.8 points and 7.7 rebounds, Brando Taylor is averaging 11 points, and Dakarai Tucker is averaging 7.8 points. As a team Utah is averaging 79.3 points and they are shooting 50.4 percent while defensively they are allowing 63.3 points and their opponents are shooting 40.3 percent. Utah is still trying to prove they belong in the Pac-12.
USC is 17-8 against the spread following a double-digit home loss, 3-7-1 against the spread in their last 11 games, and 1-4-1 against the spread in their last six home games. Utah is 11-4-1 against the spread in the Pac-12, 19-6-2 against the spread following a win, and 4-1 against the spread against a team with a losing record. The home team is 3-1-1 against the spread in the last five meetings of these two.
I like the Utes to win this one and squeak out the cover.
