The USC Trojans and the Colorado Buffaloes face off on Sunday in Pac-12 college basketball action. The Buffaloes are -3 point favorites over the Trojans with an over/under point total set at 136.
The USC Trojans have lost their last five games as they continue on what has been a disaster of a season. USC is 1-10 in the Pac-12 and 8-5 at home this season. Byron Wesley is averaging 17.4 points and 6.8 rebounds to lead the Trojans. Pe’Shon Howard is averaging 10.4 points, Omar Oraby is averaging 8.8 points and 6.3 rebounds, and Nikola Jovanovic is averaging 8.3 points. USC is averaging 71.8 points and they are shooting 45 percent while defensively they are allowing 75.3 points and their opponents are shooting 42.5 percent. USC is in last place in the Pac-12 standings.
The Colorado Buffaloes are coming off of a loss at UCLA after reeling off three wins. Colorado is 7-5 in the Pac-12, 3-6 away from home, and they are in fifth place in the Pac-12 standings. Josh Scot is Colorado’s leading scorer averaging 14.4 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Askia Booker is averaging 14.3 points, Xavier Johnson is averaging 11.7 points and 6.2 rebounds, Wesley Gordon is averaging 6.6 points and 6.6 rebounds. Colorado is averaging 74.2 points and they are shooting 45 percent while their opponents are averaging 69 points and shooting 42.9 percent. Colorado can still make the NCAA Tournament with a string finish.
USC is 2-5 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread, 3-8-1 against the spread in their last 12 games, and 1-5-1 against the spread in their last seven home games. Colorado is 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games, 1-5-1 against the spread against a team with a losing record, and 27-13-1 against the spread following a game that they didn’t cover the spread.
I like the Trojans to win this in a small upset.
