Golden St. Warriors vs. Houston Rockets
The Houston Rockets look to stay hot tonight when they invade the Oracle Arena and take on the Golden State Warriors. The Warriors are -2.5 point favorites over the Rockets with an over/under point total set at 212.5.
The Rockets won seven straight heading into the All-Star break and picked up where they left off last night by trouncing the Lakers by 134-108. James Harden poured in 29 points and 11 assists and Dwight Howard added 20 points but with the Rockets 21 points at halftime and 29 points after three quarters, coach McHale was able to empty the bench and rest all his starters. With the win, Houston improves to 37-17 on the season and 15-10 on the road where they have won their last four.
Meanwhile, the Warriors lost three of their five heading into the break but are were able to beat the Kings by 101-92 last night. Stephen Curry had a quiet night of just 13 points while Klay Thompson added 18, so the Warriors leaned on David Lee who delivered with 23 points. As a team, the Warriors made just three of 19 three point attempts which usually spells disaster for a team so dependent on their perimeter scoring, but they committed just seven turnovers while forcing 21 which was the difference in the end. All in all, coach Jackson will be pleased that his team found a way to win with defense, especially in the fourth quarter where they outscored the Kings by 26-16.
In ATS trends, the Rockets are 4-0 ATS in their last four games against a team with a winning record and 5-2 ATS in their last seven games overall, while the Warriors are 3-1-1 ATS in their last five home games and 3-1-1 ATS in their last five against a team with a winning record.
Head to head, the Rockets are 5-1 ATS in the last six meetings overall and 4-1 ATS in the last five meetings in Golden State.
I like a lot of points in this game. I expect it to go way over.
