Denver Nuggets vs. Brooklyn Nets
The Denver Nuggets hope to arrest a three-game slide tonight when they take on the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets are -1 point favorites over the Nuggets with an over/under point total set at 195.
The Nets have lost three of their last five and are coming off their biggest loss of the season, a 124-80 beatdown at the hands of the Trailblazers. In a completely listless performance, the Nets came out with no energy and simply got blown off the court, falling behind by 58-34 heading into halftime before allowing another 42 points in the fourth quarter. Perhaps the Nets are fatigued because that was their fifth game in their seven-game road trip, but they did get a couple nights of rest after their win against the Lakers on Sunday so they can’t use that excuse.
Meanwhile, the Nuggets have lost eight of their last nine games and are also coming off a loss to the Trailblazers. Randy Foye led the scoring with 17 points while JJ Hickson added 16 points and a career-high 25 rebounds off the bench, but it just wasn’t enough for the Nuggets as they shot just 35 percent from the field and four of 20 from the three point line. In the absence of Ty Lawson and Nate Robinson, the Nuggets really needed another big night from Evan Fournier who scored 27 points on Sunday, but he shot just two of 13 to finish with nine points off the bench. With the loss, Denver fall to 25-31 overall and a modest 14-14 at home.
In ATS trends, the Nets are 5-0 ATS in their last five games following a loss of more than 10 points and 10-2 ATS in their last 12 games against a team with a losing record, while the Nuggets are 1-6 ATS in their last seven games following a loss and 1-9 ATS in their last 10 games overall.
I believe that the Nuggets will pull out the win at home
