UCLA Bruins vs. California Golden Bears
The UCLA Bruins and the Cal Golden Bears face off on Sunday in a Pac-12 college basketball matchup. The Bruins are -6 point favorites over the Golden Bears.
The UCLA Bruins have won three of their last four games and are in third place in the Pac-12 standings. UCLA is 4-2 in Pac-12 play and they are 12-1 at home this season. Jordan Adams is averaging 17.5 points and 5.7 rebounds and he is the Bruins leading scorer. Kyle Anderson is averaging 15.4 points, 8.8 rebounds, and 6.7 assists, Zach LaVine is averaging 12.4 points, and Norman Powell is averaging 10.8 points. UCLA is averaging 84.7 points and they are shooting 50.3 percent while defensively they are allowing 70.4 points and their opponents are shooting 41.8 percent. UCLA is looking to get back into the rankings.
The Cal Golden Bears had been rolling winning their first five Pac-12 games but then on Wednesday they went to USC and lost by eight to a Trojan team that was winless in the Pac-12. Cal is 4-5 away from home and they have played the 74th ranked schedule in the country. Justin Cobbs is the Bears leading scorer averaging 15.3 points and 6.4 assists. Richard Solomon is averaging 11.9 points and 10.4 rebounds, David Kravish is averaging 11.6 points and 7.5 rebounds, and Tyrone Wallace is averaging 11.6 points. Cal is averaging 76.3 points and they are shooting 47 percent while defensively they are allowing 67.6 points and their opponents are shooting 40.8 percent. Cal will need to put Wednesday’s game out of their heads in a hurry.
UCLA is 8-3 against the spread in their last 11 home games, 7-3 against the spread against the Pac012, and 2-5 against the spread following a win. Cal is 5-1 against the spread against the Pac-12, 6-1 against the spread in their last seven games, and 4-0 against the spread against a team with a winning record. The home team has covered the point spread in four of the last five meetings of these two.
I like UCLA to get the win and to cover the spread in this tilit.
