Denver Broncos vs. San Diego Chargers

The Denver Broncos and the San Diego Chargers face off on Thursday Night Football in an AFC West rivalry game. The Broncos are -10.5 point favorites over the Chargers with an over/under point total set at 55.5
The Denver Broncos have the best record in the AFC and they control their own destiny for home field advantage throughout the playoffs. The Broncos also own the tiebreaker over the Chiefs so with just three games remaining they are very close to clinching the AFC West. Peyton manning is having an MVP type season, throwing for 4,522 yards and 45 touchdowns with just nine interceptions, while being sacked 15 times. It has been a committee in the Broncos backfield with Knowshon Moreno rushing for 920 yards and 10 touchdowns and Montee Ball rushing for 456 yards. Wes Welker is unlikely to play in this one, but Demaryius Thomas has 74 receptions and 11 touchdowns and Eric Decker has 71 receptions and eight touchdowns. Danny Trevathan is having a Pro Bowl season with 104 tackles and three interceptions, Wesley Woodyard has 78 tackles, and Duke Ihenacho has 66 tackles. The Broncos offense is averaging 39.6 points and 465.6 yards per game, leading the NFL in both categories, while defensively they are allowing 26.5 points and 374.2 yards per game, both ranked in the lower 4th of the NFL. Denver is looking to make amends for their dramatic playoff loss last season when they were in a similar situation to the one they’re in now.
The San Diego Chargers are in third place in the AFC West, but they are still alive in the Wild Card race in the AFC. The Chargers can’t afford any stumbles with so many teams still in the hunt and they will need some help, but they haven’t been eliminated. Phillip Rivers has completed 70.3 percent of his passes for 6 touchdowns and nine interceptions while being sacked 24 times. Ryan Mathews has rushed for 885 yards and four touchdowns and Danny Woodhead has rushed for 330 yards but he also has 65 receptions and 8 total touchdowns. Antonio Gates has 68 receptions and three touchdowns to lead the Chargers and Keenan Allen has 61 catches and five touchdowns. Eric Weddle is the Chargers leading tackler with 94 tackles, Donald Butler has 64 tackles, and Marcus Gilchrist has 59 tackles and two interceptions. The Chargers offense averages 24.3 points and 400.5 yards per game while defensively they allow 22.4 points and 382.5 yards per game. The Chargers lost the earlier meeting of these two by eight points in San Diego.
Denver is 5-0-1 against the spread against the AFC West, 5-1 against the spread in their last six games, and 7-1 against the spread against a team with a losing record. San Diego is 1-8-1 against the spread following a win, 5-2 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 0-5 against the spread following a win by 14 or more points. San Diego is 9-4-2 against the spread in the last 15 meetings of these two.
We have two of the worst defenses in terms of yards allowed so with that and the game being in primetime, I like the over here.

Over 55.5
