Milwaukee Bucks vs. Portland Trail Blazers

The Portland Trail Blazers look for their eight straight victory as they take on the injury plagued Milwaukee Bucks from BMO Harris Bradley Center. The Trail Blazers are -4 point favorites over the Bucks with an over/under point total set at 200.5.
Head to head, the Trail Blazers are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings while the favorite is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings. The Bucks are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 3 or more days rest, but just 0-7 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600 and 7-19 ATS in their last 26 home games. The Trail Blazers on the other hand are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games, 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games overall.
The Portland Trail Blazers have started the season in blistering fashion, winning nine of their first 11 games and while their fast start may surprise some people, I’m not one of them. Portland was virtually a .500 team for the most part of last season until their starters broke down with injuries in the final two months of action because of the heavy minutes they logged during the season, which was a cause of having the leagues worst bench. So what did they do in the offseason? They added players like Mo Williams, Dorell Wright, Thomas Robinson and Robin Lopez to pair up with one of the best starting fives in the NBA who have come together to stamp themselves as a team on the rise in the Western Conference.
For the Milwaukee Bucks, injuries have been the story for them in the first month of action. Here is a list of players that have been missing and are questionable for tonight’s game – Larry Sanders, Carlos Delfino, Brandon Knight, Caron Butler, Zaza Pachulia and Ersan Ilyasova. That’s virtually six of their top 10 players that are carrying some form of injury. As a result, the Bucks come into tonight’s game on a five-game losing streak and have been outscored by an average of 14.8 points during their skid.
This is a tough pick because I don’t know who will suit up for the Bucks tonight. While the Blazers are white hot at the moment, they are due for a loss anytime now and keep in mind this will be there fourth road game in a row. I have a sneaky suspicion that Milwaukee ends up covering tonight for some reason, but I simply can’t pick them given the aforementioned reasons.
