Los Angeles Clippers vs. Memphis Grizzlies

The Los Angeles Clippers and Memphis Grizzles due to battle and the Clipper are -9 point favorites over the Grizzlies with an over/under point total set at 201.
Head to head, the Grizzlies are 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The Clippers are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 vs. Western Conference, 8-2 ATS in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a losing road record, but just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 vs. NBA Southwest. The Grizzlies on the other hand are 37-17 ATS in their last 54 games playing on 0 days rest, but just 0-4 ATS in their last four games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 2-9-1 ATS in their last 12 games overall.
The Memphis Grizzlies come into tonight’s game riding a two game winning streak, which is their first of the season, but they are up against it as they face a red-hot Los Angeles Clippers team, one that has a four-game winning streak of their own. While many will look at the Grizzlies last two results and the fact that the Clippers struggled against an undermanned Brooklyn Nets squad in their last outing and use that as there basis for making a play, I think that’s a big mistake for the following reasons.
For one, Memphis’ last two wins were against the Los Angeles Lakers and Sacramento Kings, two lottery bound teams, granted, they were both on the road, which leads me to my next point. This will be the Grizzles third road game in four nights while the Clippers have only played three home games since the 11th, so they should be nice and rested. Lets also not forget that before Memphis won those two away from home, they lost to Indiana (road) and Toronto by 16 points apiece.
Now as far as Los Angeles is concerned, it’s easy to see why they struggled against a Nets team missing Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and Brook Lopez on Sunday night. It’s pretty obvious that the Clippers mindset changed when they found out all those players would be missing and they thought they could just turn up and get an easy ‘W’. As they found out, Brooklyn played like they had nothing to lose and probably had their best outing of the season, bar the Miami game. That game was just a case of LA not taking the Nets seriously and nothing else. Just look at the Clippers previous home games. Wins over Oklahoma City by eight, Houston by 19 and Golden State by 11.
I think the over holds some real value here too, but the Clippers are my pick.
