Texas A&M Aggies vs. Texas El Paso Miners

The Texas A&M Aggies and the UTEP Miners face off on Saturday Night in College Station for a college football matchup. The Aggies are -45.5 point favorites over the Miners.
The Texas A&M Aggies have lost two games this season and while their defense isn’t the same as it was a year ago their offense still has plenty of firepower. Texas A&M is averaging 44.5 points and 551.2 yards per game with 10 turnovers. Johnny Manziel is having another big year completing 74.3 percent of his passes for 2,487 yards and 21 touchdowns with seven interceptions and he has rushed for 497 yards and six touchdowns. Ben Malena has rushed for 419 yards and eight touchdowns and Tra Carson has rushed for 258 yards and four touchdowns. Mike Evans leads the Aggies with 46 receptions and 10 touchdowns and Malcome Kennedy has 40 tackles. Defensively Texas A&M is allowing 30.9 points and 450.5 yards with eight interceptions, four fumble recoveries, and 11 sacks. Howard Mathews has 53 tackles, Steven Jenkins has 48 tackles, and Darian Claiborne has 47 tackles. Playing a non-SEC opponent this week the Aggies take a breath from what has been a brutal schedule.
The UTEP Miners have lost five games in a row and are having one of their worst seasons in recent memory. The UTEP offense is averaging 27.7 points and 407.4 yards per game and they have turned the ball over nine times. Jameill Showers has completed 56.9 percent of his passes for 1,263 yards with 11 touchdowns and four interceptions and he has rushed for 192 yards and four touchdowns. Aaron Jones has rushed for 743 yards and three touchdowns and Nathan Jeffery has rushed for 190 yards and a touchdown. Jordan Leslie has 28 catches and five touchdowns and Ian Hamilton and Eric Tomlinson each have 20 catches and a touchdown. Defensively UTEP allows 38.7 points and 467.7 yards per game with two interceptions, seven fumble recoveries, and six sacks. Devin Cockrell has 43 tackles, Marcus Bagley has 41 tackles, and Anthony Puente has 41 tackles. UTEP is up against it in a bad way in this spot.
Texas A&M is 5-0 against the spread against a team with a losing record, 4-1 against the spread in their last five home games, and 5-2 against the spread following a win by 20 or more points. UTEP is 2-5 against the spread against a team with a winning record, 3-8 against the spread in their last 11 road games, and 0-5 against the spread against the SEC.
This is a ton of points but UTEP’s defense is horrible and we have seen Johnny football make it look easy against much tougher than this.
