Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears

The Green Bay Packers and the Chicago Bears face off on Monday Night at Lambeau Field as they close out week 9 of the NFL season on Monday Night Football. The Packers are -10.5 point favorites over the Bears with an over/under point total set at 49.
The Green Bay Packers have battled through a slew of injuries to a 5-2 record and they are in first place in the NFC North. The Packers offense is averaging 30.3 points and 438.9 yards per game and they are minus two in turnover ratio. Aaron Rodgers has completed 67.1 percent of his passes for 2.191 yards with 15 touchdowns and four interceptions and he has been sacked 17 times. Eddie Lacy has rushed for 446 yards and three touchdowns and James Starks is averaging 6.0 yards per carry. Jordy Nelson has 39 catches and seven touchdowns and Jarrett Boykin has 14 catches as the Green Bay receivers have been knocked around. Defensively the Packers allow 22.6 points and 331.1 yards with three interceptions, 23 sacks, and eight fumble recoveries. A.J. Hawk has 59 tackles, Tramon Williams has 30 tackles, and M.D> Jennings has 27 tackles. The Packers are without some of their stars like Randall Cobb and Clay Matthews forcing everyone to have to elevate their game.
The Chicago Bears are at a pivotal point in the season as they are a game over .500 and in third place in the NFC North. Jay Cutler is injured so Josh McCown has taken over at QB and he completed 70 percent of his passes in his first action and has now had a bye week to work with the first unit. Matt Forte has rushed for 533 yards and six touchdowns and he has 35 catches out of the backfield. Brandon Marshall has 46 catches and five touchdowns, Alshon Jeffery has 33 catches, and Martellus Bennett has 32 catches and four touchdowns. The Bears defense allows 29.4 points and 391 yards per game with 10 interceptions, nine sacks, and 13 fumble recoveries. Lance Briggs has 64 tackles, Major Wright has 53 tackles, and James Anderson has 41 tackles. The Bears seem to always be playing from behind but maybe it will be a different story with McCown at QB.
Green Bay is 4-0 against the spread in their last four games, 15-5 against the spread against a team with a winning record, and 10-4 against the spread in their last 14 games against the NFC. Chicago is 2-5 against the spread in their last seven road games, 2-12 against the spread against the NFC, and 0-4 against the spread in their last four games. The favorite has covered the point spread in the last five meetings of these two.
Neither of these teams defenses are at the top of their games and I look for the offenses to have their way.
