Arkansas Razorbacks vs. South Carolina Gamecocks

The Arkansas Razorbacks and the South Carolina Gamecocks face off on Saturday in a SEC college football showdown. The Gamecocks are -6 point favorites over the Razorbacks with an over/under point total set at 48.5.
The Arkansas Razorbacks opened the season with three wins but since then it has been three losses as the Hogs make the turn and begin the second half of their season. The Arkansas offense is averaging 26 points and 391.3 yards per game. QB Brandon Allen has completed 49.6 percent of his passes with eight touchdowns and four interceptions. Alex Collins is averaging 5.8 yards per carry with three touchdowns and he has seven catches and Jonathan Williams is averaging 6.2 yards per carry with four touchdowns and he has six catches with two more touchdowns. Javontee Herndon has 17 catches and four touchdowns, Hunter Henry has 14 catches and a touchdown, and Keon Hatcher has 11 catches and a touchdown. Defensively Arkansas allows 23.5 points and 339.5 yards per game with four interceptions, 17 sacks, and three fumble recoveries. Jarrett Lake has 42 tackles and Braylon Mitchell and Alan Turner each have 37 tackles. Arkansas is still in a building process and they seem just short of being able to compete with the better teams in the SEC.
The South Carolina Gamecocks have bounced back from their loss in week two to Georgia by winning their next three games and they look to make it four on Saturday at Arkansas. The South Carolina offense is averaging 31 points and 476.4 yards per game. QB Connor Shaw I back in action and for the season he has completed 68.8 percent of his passes with seven touchdowns and no interceptions while rushing for 282 yards and a touchdown. Mike Davis is averaging 6.7 yards per carry with eight touchdowns and Brandon Wilds is averaging 4.7 yards per carry with a touchdown. Bruce Ellington leads the Gamecocks with 15 receptions and one touchdown, Nick Jones has 14 receptions, and Damiere Byrd has 13 receptions and a touchdown. Defensively South Carolina is allowing 25.8 points and 365 yards per game with four interceptions, three fumble recoveries, and 14 sacks. Marcquis Roberts has 26 tackles, Kaiwan Lewis has 25 tackles, and Jimmy Legree has 23 tackles. Jadeveon Clowney sat last week but he should be back in the lineup for this one.
Arkansas is 20-8 against the spread in their last 28 home games, 1-4 against the spread in their last five games, and 2-10 against the spread against a team with a winning record. South Carolina is 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games, 9-4 against the spread following a loss, and 0-4 against the spread in their last four games. The favorite has covered the spread in six of the last seven meetings of these two.
Neither of these defenses have proven to be good enough to shut either of these teams down and I look for there to be plenty of scoring and for this to go over the total.

Over 48.5
