For the season Capuano has allowed 109 hits and 47 earned runs while striking out 66 over 90 innings for a 4-6 record and a 4.70 ERA.
The Boston Red Sox jumped out early on Saturday and they made it hold up as they beat the Dodgers. Jonny Gomes hit a home run driving in three runs, Mike Napoli had three hits, and Dustin Pedroia had two hits as the Red Sox scored four runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher Jon Lester allowed three hits and a run while striking out six over 7.1 innings to get the win and go to 12-6 on the year and Koji Uehara earned his 13th save. For Sunday’s game the Red Sox start Jake Peavy who makes his fifth start since being traded to the Red Sox. Since the trade to Boston Peavy has allowed 24 hits and 11 earned runs while striking out 15 over 23.2 innings for a 1-1 record and 4.18 ERA.
Los Angeles is 9-3 in their last 12 interleague games, 46-12 in their last 58 games overall, and 7-0 in Capuano’s last seven starts. Boston is 6-2 in game three of a series, 15-6 in their last 21 interleague road games, and 2-5 in their last seven games against a left-handed starter. Boston is 6-1 in the last seven meetings of these two.
This look like it will be a low scoring game and for my pick I will take the under.
