Starting pitcher Stephen Strasburg allowed seven hits and two runs while striking out six over 7.0 innings to not factor in the decision as Rafael Soriano took the loss to fall to 1-2 on the season. Andre Ethier hit a home run, Hanley Ramirez hit a homer, and Adrian Gonzalez, Juan Uribe, and Mark Ellis each had two hits as the Dodgers scored three runs on eight hits. Starting pitcher Ricky Nolasco allowed eight hits and two runs while striking out two over 5.1 innings for a no decision as Ronald Belisario got the win to go to 4-5 on the season and Kenley Jansen earned his 10th save. For Saturday’s game the Dodgers start Zack Greinke who has won his last five starts. For the season Greinke has allowed 80 hits and 33 earned runs while striking out 68 over 85 innings for a 8-2 record and a 3.49 ERA.
Washington is 4-1 in their last five home games, 2-6 in their last eight games overall, and 37-16 in Gonzalez’s last 53 starts. Los Angeles is 5-0 in their last five road games, 18-5 in their last 23 games overall, and 4-1 in Greinke’s last five starts against a team with a winning record. Los Angeles is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings of these two.
There were plenty of base runners on Friday and not a lot of runs and I see Saturday being the same.
