As a team the Marlins are hitting .227 with Chris Coghlan hitting .283, Juan Pierre hitting .238, and Placido Polanco is hitting .234. The Marlins opponents are hitting .264 and the Miami pitching staff has an ERA of 4.12. For game one in New York the Marlins start Jose Fernandez who got a win in his last start. For the season Fernandez has allowed 47 hits and 22 earned runs while striking out 60 over 59.1 innings for a 3-3 record and a 3.34 ERA.
The Mets are 3-8 in their last 11 home games, 1-4 in their last five games overall, and 5-2 in Harvey’s last seven home starts. The Mets are a big favorite here and while the line is out of whack the Mets are a better choice.
