Atlanta Braves vs. New York Mets

The Atlanta Braves and the New York Mets face off on Monday in game one of their series at Turner Field. The Braves are -175 favorites over the Mets with an over/under run total set at 7.

The New York Mets are having a miserable season but they gave themselves something to cheer about on Sunday with a ninth inning comeback win against the Cubs. The Mets are 3-7 in their last 10 games, 11-16 on the road this season, and they are 13.5 games back in the NL East. As a team the Mets are hitting .224 with David Wright hitting .297, Daniel Murphy hitting .281, and Justin Turner hitting .266. The Mets opponents are hitting .266 and the New York pitching staff has an ERA of 4.17 with the starters at 3.96 and the bullpen at 4.54. For game one against the Braves the Mets start Dillon Gee who has looked sharp winning his last three games. For the season Gee has allowed 88 hits and 38 earned runs while striking out 63 over 70.2 innings for a 5-6 record and a 4.84 ERA.
Atlanta is 43-18 in their last 61 games as a home favorite, 1-5 in their last six game one of a series, and 2-5 in Hudson’s last seven starts. New York is 4-1 in their last five games as a road underdog, 4-10 in their last 14 games overall, and 4-1 in Gee’s last five starts. New York is 4-15 in the last 19 meetings of these two.
I am not expecting a ton of scoring here as neither of these pitchers are giving up much so I am going to go with the under here.
