Toronto Raptors vs. Detroit Pistons

The Toronto Raptors return home to face the visiting Detroit Pistons on Monday night. The Raptors are -6.5 point favorites over the Pistons with an over/under point total set at 194.
Head to head, the Pistons are 0-4 ATS in the last 4 meetings. The Raptors are 17-7 ATS in their last 24 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 14-6 ATS in their last 20 games playing on 0 days rest, but just 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games. The Pistons on the other hand are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games and 20-8 ATS in their last 28 road games vs. a team with a losing home record, but just 0-5 ATS in their last 5 vs. NBA Atlantic.
As I mentioned in their last game, which was against tonight’s opponent, the Detroit Pistons could be the worst team in the NBA right now, well at least they were in the month of March. The Pistons finished the month with just one victory, which was a one point win against the Charlotte Bobcats, the team with the worst record in the NBA. In their aforementioned game against the Raptors on Friday, the Pistons once again struggled as they fell 99-82, despite leading by double-digits at one stage in the contest.
The Toronto Raptors also come into tonight’s game in some poor form, falling in Washington last night 109-92 to record their sixth loss in their last seven games, with their only win in that stretch coming against the Pistons late last week. Although their defensive numbers haven’t been anything to ride home about, Toronto continues to struggle on the offensive end as they are averaging just 92.1 points per game over their last nine contests.
While I’m sure the Pistons have payback on their minds, I just don’t see how you can take them here considering they just lost to the Raptors at home by 17 points. Detroit did well to get within a point of Chicago last night, but you have to realise the Bulls are the worst team when it comes to covering the spread at home, going just 12-25 ATS at the United Center this season. I’ll take the Raptors in this one.
