Indiana Pacers vs. LA Clippers

The Los Angeles Clippers return home to face the surging Indiana Pacers on Monday night from STAPLES Center. The Clippers are -5 point favorites over the Pacers with an over/under point 188.
Head to head, the Pacers are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Los Angeles while the home team is 6-1 ATS in the last 7 meetings and the favorite is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings. The Clippers are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 home games vs. a team with a losing road record and 7-2 ATS in their last 9 games following a S.U. loss, but just 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600. The Pacers on the other hand are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600, but just 7-15 ATS in their last 22 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. NBA Pacific.
The Indiana Pacers come into tonight’s game with a losing road record, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at this team’s recent results. Following their 112-104 victory in Phoenix on Saturday night, the Pacers improved to 3-0 on their current four game trip which ends tonight in LA. Indiana has now won four of five away from home and seven of their last eight overall as hope to overtake the New York Knicks, who currently occupy the second overall seed in the Eastern Conference.
The Los Angeles Clippers continue to drop important games down the stretch as they have now lost three of four and are in danger of slipping out of home court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. After nearly defeating the San Antonio Spurs on their home court on Friday night, the Clippers then travelled to Houston to play a Rockets team without their leading scorer in James Harden, however, it didn’t matter as the home team ran away with as comfortable 98-81 victory. With their recent slide, Los Angeles now sits just a half a game ahead of the Memphis Grizzlies, the team they will likely face in the first round of the playoffs.
You have to think the Clippers will come out with a purpose tonight after their recent struggles, but this Pacers team is the real deal. Indiana brushed aside Houston and Dallas with ease and now they will be looking to do the same against an LA team that didn’t play well at all in the month of March. The Clippers might come out and make a statement here, but I just can’t pass up the points with the way this Pacers team has been playing.
