Cleveland Indians vs. Chicago White Sox

The White Sox and the Indians meet on Tuesday for game two of their series. The White Sox are -122 favorites over the Indians with an over/under run total set at 8.
The Chicago White Sox are in last place in the AL Central and their loss to the Indians on Monday was their fourth loss in a row. Jeff Keppnger and Connor Gillespie each had two hits and Hector Gimenez added a hit but the White Sox scored just two times on five hits. On the mound starting pitcher Dylan Axelrod allowed three hits and run while striking out four over six injings and despite the strong performance he didn’t get a decision as Matt Thornton blew the save and took the loss. For Tuesday’s game Chicago starts Jose Quintana who is coming off of his first win of the year. For the season Quinatana has allowed 14 hits and five earned runs while striking out 17 over 17.2 innings of work for a 1-0 record with a 2.55 ERA.
The Cleveland Indians won for the third time in a row on Monday as they came from behind to beat the White Sox. Lonnie Chisenhall had two hits and Michael Brantley, Asdrubal Cabrera, and Jason Giambi all had hits as the Indians scored three runs on six hits. Starting pitcher Justin Masterson allowed four hits and two runs while striking out five over seven innings to get the win and go to 4-1 on the year and Chris Perez earned his third save. For Tuesday’s game Cleveland starts Zach McCallister who has lost two of his three starts this season. For the year McCallister has allowed 17 hits and six earned runs while striking out 16 over 17.1 innings of work for a 1-2 record and a 3.12 ERA.
Chicago is 2-6 in their last eight home games, 2-8 in their last nine games following a loss, and 1-4 in Quintana’s last five starts. Cleveland is 27-55 in their last 82 games overall, 7-39 in their last 56 games as a road underdog, and 1-6 in McCallister’s last seven road starts.
Chicago has been playing poorly but this looks like a spot where the Sox snap the losing streak and get a win.
