Brooklyn Nets vs. Toronto Raptors
The Brooklyn Nets head to Toronto in search of their fifth straight win as they take on the Raptors on Sunday afternoon. The Nets are -3 point favorites over the Raptors with an over/under point total set at 195.5.
Head to head, the Nets are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Toronto while the home team is 4-0-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings and the favorite is 3-1-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The Raptors are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall, but just 2-7 ATS in their last 9 games vs. a team with a winning S.U. record and 3-7 ATS in their last 10 home games. The Nets on the other hand are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a losing home record, 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400 and 12-5 ATS in their last 17 road games.
While the Brooklyn Nets have clinched home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs, there is still an outside chance they could slide up to the third spot, should they win their final three games and Indiana lose two of their last three. Although it seems unlikely that would happen, the Nets aren’t acting that way according to point guard Deron Williams “We could still get the 3 seed. We have to hope for Indiana to lose some games, but it’s still possible. I think we have a good thing going right now.”
Having won four straight, the Nets come into tonight’s game as one of the hottest team in the league right now, however, the Toronto Raptors aren’t playing too badly themselves, having won four of five after back-to-back wins over the Chicago Bulls. Although the Bulls are dealing with a lot of injuries right now, they did manage to halt the New York Knicks 13 game winning streak, which was sandwiched between losses to the Raptors.
It’s really hard to look past Brooklyn here. Not only are they going for the season sweep, they have won four of the past five meetings and like I touched on earlier, they want to win each of these last three games to give them a chance at the three seed. Feeling pretty good about the Nets in this one.
