Brooklyn Nets vs. Utah Jazz
The Utah Jazz collides with the New Jersey Nets on Saturday night from Energy Solutions Arena. The Jazz are -5 point favorites over the Nets with an over/under point total set at 193.5.
Head to head, the Nets are 1-7 ATS in the last 8 meetings and 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Utah. The Jazz are 12-5 ATS in their last 17 home games vs. a team with a winning road record, 5-1 ATS in their last 6 home games and 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Nets on the other hand are 4-0 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600, 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games playing on 0 days rest and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall.
It seems like the Utah Jazz have fully recovered from their recent slump as they now won three straight following their impressive 105-95 win in Portland on Friday night. Because of their recent purple patch and the Lakers recent struggles, the Jazz now find themselves in eighth spot, however, they have exactly the same record as Los Angeles, but they do own the tie breaker should it come down to it.
The Brooklyn Nets have been impressive on their current eight-game road trip, however, they are coming off a disappointing 109-87 loss in Denver last night. With Joe Johnson sitting on the sideline, the Nets fell to 4-2 on their current trip as they too are playing for playoff seeding, currently sitting in fourth in the East.
The Nets have been good lately, but I don’t see how you go past the Jazz here. Utah is still one of the toughest places to play in the entire league and they have a lot to play for. Brooklyn will be playing in their sixth straight road game and are doing the toughest back-to-back combo in Basketball in Denver and Utah.
