Vanderbilt Commodores vs. Arkansas Razorbacks

The Vanderbilt Commodores and the Arkansas Razorbacks face off on Saturday in in Fayetteville in SEC College basketball action. The Razorbacks are -2.5 point favorites over the Commodores.
The Vanderbilt Commodores have lost their last four games in a row and they are tied for last place in the SEC. Vandy is 2-7 in SEC play, 5-5 at home this season, and they have played the 50th ranked schedule in the nation. As a team Vanderbilt is averaging 59.2 points, 11.3 assists, and their opponents are shooting 40.8 percent while defensively they are allowing 61.2 points, 10.9 assists, and their opponents are shooting 41.4 percent. Kedren Johnson is averaging 14.5 points, Kyle Fuller is averaging 9.7 points, and Rod Odom is averaging 9.7 points. Two of Vandy’s last three losses have been by one point and this is their first of three consecutive home games.
The Arkansas Razorbacks are coming off of their biggest win of the year but they still haven’t won on the road this season. Arkansas is 0-5 on the road this season, 5-4 in the SEC, and they have played the 77th ranked schedule in the nation this season. As a team Arkansas is averaging 77.1 points, 16.1 assists, and they are shooting 45.3 percent while defensively they are allowing 68.4 points, 12 assists, and their opponents are averaging 42.4 points. B.J. Young is averaging 16.5 points, Marshawn Powell is averaging 15.1 points and 5.6 rebounds, and Hunter Mickelson is averaging 7.0 points. Arkansas boosted their resume with the Florida win but they need to follow it up and get a road win.
Vanderbilt is 1-6 against the spread in their last seven Saturday games, 5-1 against the spread in their last six home games against a team with a road winning percentage of less than .400, and 6-2 against the spread in their last eight home games against a team with a losing road record. Arkansas is a road favorite here and while they are the better team until they actually win on the road it’s tough to give them the nod here.
