Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Florida Gators
The Arkansas Razorbacks and the Florida Gators face off on Tuesday in SEC college basketball action. The Gators are -9 point favorites over the Razorbacks with an over/under point total set at 137.
The Arkansas Razorbacks look to still be a work in progress as they are nearly unbeatable at home and can’t buy a win on the road. Arkansas is 12-1 at home, 0-3 against teams ranked in the top 25, and they have played the 96th ranked schedule in the nation. As a team Arkansas is averaging 77 points, 16 assists, and they are shooting 45.1 percent and defensively they are allowing 68.3 points, 11.8 assists, and their opponents are shooting 42.5 percent. B.J. Young is averaging 16.7 points, Marshawn Powell is averaging 15.3 points and 5.6 rebounds, and Hunter Mickelson is averaging 7.0 points. Even though they are tough at home this could be a bad spot for Arkansas.
The Florida Gators are in first place in the SEC and they are ripping through the competition. UF is 8-0 in the SEC, have played the 13th ranked schedule in the nation, and they are 6-1 on the road this season. As a team Florida is averaging 74 points, 15.7 assists, and they are shooting 49.6 percent while defensively they are allowing 51.1 points, 9.3 assists, and their opponents are shooting 36 percent. Kenny Boynton is averaging 13.4 points, Mike Rosario is averaging 12.1 points, Erik Murphy is averaging 12.9 points, and Patric Young is averaging 11.1 points and 6.8 rebounds. Florida is a contender to win it all in March.
Arkansas is 14-6 against the spread in their last 20 home games against a team with a winning road record, 8-25 against the spread following a win, and 5-17 against the spread following a cover. Florida is 5-0 against the spread in their last five road games, 8-1 against the spread against the SEC, and 4-1 against the spread against a team with a winning record. The favorite has covered the spread in six of the last seven meetings of these two.
The total is set at 137 and I don’t see that being a problem for these two and my pick is on the over.
