Georgia Bulldogs vs. Auburn Tigers

The Georgia Bulldogs and the Auburn Tigers face off on Wednesday in Athens in SEC college basketball action. The Bulldogs are -4.5 point favorites over the Tigers with an over/under point total set at 130.
The Georgia Bulldogs have had a tough go of it this season in the SEC but they have won two of their last three games. Georgia is 7-5 at home this season and they have played the 24th ranked schedule in the nation. As a team Georgia is averaging 59.4 points, 11.5 assists, and they are shooting 41.3 percent while defensively they are allowing 62.3 points, 10.8 assists, and their opponents are shooting 40.3 percent. Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is averaging 17.3 points and 6.4 rebounds, Nemanja Djurisic is averaging 7.9 points, and Charles Mann is averaging 5.8 points. Georgia appears to be putting something together and the Dawgs are playing their best basketball of the season.
The Auburn Tigers have lost four games in a row and after looking competitive are sinking in the SEC standings. Auburn is 1-3 on the road this season and they have played the 126th ranked schedule in the country. As a team Auburn is averaging 68.1 points, 13.8 assists, and they are shooting 42.5 percent while defensively they are allowing 67.1 points, 13.1 assists, and their opponents are shooting 42.3 percent. Frankie Sullivan is averaging 16.9 points, Rob Chubb is averaging 9.8 points and 7.9 rebounds, and Allen Payne is averaging 8.2 points. Auburn plays three of their next four games including this one on the road.
Georgia is 2-5 against the spread against the SEC, 7-19 against the spread following a win, and 7-3 against the spread against a team with a losing record. Auburn is 7-2 against the spread in their last nine games overall, 8-2 against the spread in their last 10 road games, and 1-4 against the spread against a team with a losing record. The favorite has covered in four of the last five meetings of these two.
This one looks to be a low scoring game and my free pick is on the under.
