Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Denver Nuggets
The Denver Nuggets look to continue their dominance at home as they host the Cleveland Cavaliers on Friday night. The Nuggets are -11 point favorites over the Cavaliers with an over/under point total set at 206.
Head to head, the Cavaliers are 1-4 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The Nuggets are 7-3 ATS in their last 10 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of less than .400, 6-2 ATS in their last 8 home games and 11-5 ATS in their last 16 games overall. The Cavaliers on the other hand are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 road games, but just 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games following a ATS win and 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. Western Conference.
Another home game and another win for the Denver Nuggets who improved to 12-2 at the Pepsi Center following their hard fought 108-105 victory over the Orlando Magic on Wednesday. Having played a whopping 23 road games already this season, the Nuggets are enjoying a nice stretch of home games at the moment, having played four of their last five in front of their home crowd, with the only loss in that bunch coming against Minnesota last week.
Things have been tough for the Cleveland Cavaliers in the early stages of the season, however they are coming off one of their better wins of the season after taking care of the visiting Atlanta Hawks 99-83 on Wednesday. In their most lopsided victory of the season, Kyrie Irving once again led the way with 33 points as Cleveland continues to get good results from second-year forward Tristan Thompson, who has averaged 13.1 points and 12.5 rebounds in the 11 games since Anderson Varejao last played.
I thought about taking the over in this one, but in the end I settled with the home team. Cleveland is coming off a 16 point thrashing of Atlanta, but let’s not forget this team just lost at Chicago by 26 in their previous outing. On the flip side, the Nuggets didn’t play great in their last home game against Orlando, yet they own double digit home victories against Utah and both LA clubs in the past two or so weeks. Look for Denver to run away with this one in the end.
