Murray St. Racers vs. Arkansas St. Red Wolves

The Arkansas State Red Wolves and the Murray State Racers face off on Wednesday in college basketball action.  The Racers are -2.5 point favorites over the Red Wolves with an over/under total set at 138.

The Arkansas State Red Wolves have won their last two games and are unbeaten at home this season. Arkansas State has yet to face a real tough team as they have played the 314th ranked schedule in the nation. As a team Arkansas State is averaging 72 points, 11.9 assists, and they are shooting 42.1 percent while defensively they are allowing 66.4 points, 13.8 assists, and their opponents are shooting 44.5 percent. Edward Townsel is averaging 14.6 points, Brandon Peterson is averaging 11.7 points and 10.1 rebounds, and Kendrick Washington is averaging 9.6 points. This game will easily be the toughest test Arkansas State has faced this year.

The Murray State Racers have won five games in a row and once again they look like contenders in the Ohio Valley Conference. Murray State has plenty of work ahead of them but thus far they look like they are more than capable of taking on a few challenges. As a team Murray State is averaging 79.2 points, 13.9 assists, and they are shooting 48.2 percent while defensively they are allowing 66.1 points, 11.1 assists, and their opponents are shooting 39.9 percent. Isaiah Canaan is averaging 21.3 points, Ed Daniel is averaging 16.8 points and 11.7 rebounds, and Stacy Wilson is averaging 16.3 points. Four of Murray State’s next five games are on the road.

Arkansas State is 8-2-2 against the spread against the Ohio Valley Conference, 1-5-1 against the spread in their last seven non-conference games, and 1-6 against the spread in their last seven games overall. Murray State is 9-4 against the spread following a win, 5-1 against the spread in their last six road games, and 9-4-1 against the spread in their last 14 non-conference games.

There should be no shortage of points in this one and my pick will be on the over.
