Buffalo Bills vs. St. Louis Rams
The Buffalo Bills and the St. Louis Rams face off on Sunday in Orchard Park in week 14 NFL Football action. The Bills are -3 point favorites over the Rams with an over/under point total set at 42.
The Buffalo Bills aren’t having the season they had hoped but they are coming off of a win against Jacksonville in week 13. Ryan Fitzpatrick will be looking over his shoulder again this April on NFL Draft Day but thus far this season he has completed 61.1 percent of his passes with 20 touchdowns and 12 interceptions while being sacked 20 times. C.J. Spiller is averaging 6.6 yards per carry with five touchdowns while catching 33 passes and Fred Jackson is averaging 4.0 yards per carry with three touchdowns while catching 29 passes. Steve Johnson has 55 catches and five touchdowns, Donald Jones has 38 catches and four touchdowns, and Scott Chandler has 32 catches and six touchdowns. It has been the Bills’ defense that has been disappointing allowing 28.1 points per game, 139.2 rushing yards, and 229.3 passing yards with 10 interceptions and 31 sacks. Nick Barnett has 82 tackles, George Wilson has 74 tackles, and Mario Williams has 9.5 sacks. For Buffalo it is another year of wait until next year.
The St. Louis Rams are improving and they showed their guts and heart in a week 13 win over the San Francisco 49ers. Sam Bradford has the ability to make all of the throws and he has completed 60.8 percent of his passes with 14 touchdowns and nine interceptions while being sacked 30 times. Steven Jackson is averaging 4.0 yards per carry with two touchdowns while catching 21 passes and Daryl Richardson is averaging 5.4 yards per carry with 19 catches. Danny Amendola has 51 catches and two touchdowns despite missing several games, Brandon Gibson has 34 catches and four touchdowns, and Chris Givens has 33 catches and three touchdowns. Defensively St. Louis allows 22.3 points, 114.4 rushing yards, and 226.3 passing yards with 12 interceptions and 34 sacks. James Laurinaitis has 116 tackles and Jo-Lonn Dunbar and Cortland Finnegan have 80 tackles each. Jeff Fisher appears to have the Rams headed in the right direction.
Buffalo is 2-9-1 against the spread following a cover, 1-6-1 against the spread following a win, and 2-7 against the spread following a win of 14 or more points. St. Louis is 4-1 against the spread in their last five road games, 9-4 against the spread in their last 13 games overall, and 3-8 against the spread against a team with a losing record.
The Rams are playing well and getting better while Buffalo appears to be inconsistent at best and though I like the Rams here and see where they have a solid chance to win outright
