Kentucky Wildcats vs. Notre Dame Fighting Irish

The Notre Dame Fighting Irish and the Kentucky Wildcats face off on Thursday in a college basketball matchup in South Bend. The Fighting Irish are -1.5 point favorites over the Wildcats with an over/under point total set at 134.
The Notre Dame Fighting Irish took an early season loss but since then Mike Brey’s team have reeled off four wins in a row. Five of ND’s wins have come at home this season and they have a win over a team with a RPI better than 50. As a team Notre Dame is averaging 73.7 points per game, 19 assists, and they are shooting 49 percent while defensively they are allowing 59.7 points, 13.9 assists, and they are allowing their opponents to shoot 37.3 percent. Jack Cooley is averaging 14.3 points and 11.3 rebounds, Jerian Grant is averaging 13 points, Garrick Sherman is averaging 11 points, and Eric Atkins is averaging 10.3 points and 6.7 assists per game. This will easily be Notre Dame’s stiffest test thus far this year.
The expectation for the Kentucky Wildcats is always sky high and this year in no different for John Calipari’s team. Kentucky stumbled earlier this season against Duke but other than that it has been four wins for UK. As a team Kentucky is averaging 85.2 points, 17.4 assists, and they are shooting 55.8 percent while defensively they are allowing 67.6 points, 13.4 assists, and their opponents are shooting 39.1 percent. Archie Goodwin is averaging 19 points, 5.2 rebounds, and 4.4 assists, Alex Poythress is averaging 18.4 points and 7.4 rebounds, Kyle Wiltjer is averaging 12.6 points, and Nerlens Noel is averaging 12.4 points and 8.6 rebounds. Kentucky still has plenty to prove and plenty to learn this season.
Notre Dame is 5-2 against the spread in their last seven games against the SEC, 2-5 against the spread in their last seven home games, and 3-14-2 against the spread in their last 17 non-conference games. Kentucky is 5-1 against the spread in their last six road games, 5-15-1 against the spread in their last 21 non-conference games, and 0-4 against the spread against the Big East. The favorite has covered the spread the last six times these two have met.
The total is set at 134 and I have this one going over that
