Green Bay Packers vs. Indianapolis Colts
The Indianapolis Colts and the Green Bay Packers face of in a week five NFL match up in Indianapolis on Sunday. The Packers are -7.5 point favorites over the Colts with an over/under point total set at 47.5.
The Indianapolis Colts are coming off of a bye week but they will be without Head Coach Chuck Pagano who was diagnosed with cancer and is in treatment of to whom of course we wish the very best. QB Andrew Luck appears to be all that was advertised but at the same time he is a rookie and looks like a rookie often completing 53.3 percent of his passes with five touchdowns and four interceptions while being sacked five times. Donald Brown leads the Colts in rushing with 155 yards and a 3.6 yards per carry average with a touchdown and Vick Ballard is averaging 2.1 yards per carry. Reggie Wayne has 23 catches to lead Indy, Donnie Avery has 14, and tight end Coby Fleener has eight. Defensively Indianapolis is allowing 27.7 points per game, 131.3 rushing yards, and 231.3 passing yards with seven sacks and an interception. Jerrell Freeman has 27 tackles, Robert Mathis has four sacks, and Antoine Bethea, Jerraud Powers, and Kavell Connor each have 17 tackles. Indianapolis is a building team and they will need to turn around their minus four turnover ratio if they want to turn their results around.
The Green Bay Packers are 2-2 to start the year and bad call or no bad call this is a team that clearly has some holes to fill and some things to work on if they want to get back to the Super Bowl. QB Aaron Rodgers has completed 69.9 percent of his passes with seven touchdowns and three interceptions but the heat has been on as he has been sacked 16 times. Cedric Benson has taken over in the Packers’ backfield averaging 3.6 yards per carry with a touchdown as no one else on the team has any kind of substantial carries. Jordy Nelson has 21 catches, Jermichael Finley has 19 catches, and Randall Cobb has 18 catches as the Packers continue to spread the ball around through the air. Defensively Green Bay allows 20.3 points per game, 113 rushing yards per game, and 201.3 passing yards per game with four interceptions and 14 sacks. A.J. hawk leads the Pack with 33 tackles, Clay Mathews has seven sacks, and Tramon Williams has two interceptions. In recent years the Packers have relied on turnovers to get it done and their minus one turnover ratio may have more to do with their overall performance on the field than a single call by an official.
Indianapolis is 4-1 against the spread following a bye week, 5-11 against the spread in their last 16 home games, and 4-0 against the spread following a loss. Green Bay is 10-1 against the spread following a game which they didn’t cover the spread, 1-4 against the spread against a team with a losing record, and 1-4 against the spread following a win. The home team has covered the spread in the last four meetings of these two.
The total in this one is set at 47.5 and I see this one going over that number.
