Arkansas Razorbacks vs. Mississippi Rebels

The Arkansas Razorbacks and the Ole Miss Rebels get back on the football field as they face off on Saturday in a SEC contest.  The Razorbacks are -5.5 point favorites over the Razorbacks with an over/under point total set at 60.

The Arkansas Razorbacks have been one of college football’s biggest disappointments this season but they can still salvage their season and go to a bowl game with a strong finish. QB Tyler Wilson has completed 60.5 percent of his passes with 14 touchdowns and five interceptions. Knile Davis is averaging 3.4 yards per carry with two touchdowns and Dennis Johnson is averaging 5.9 yards per carry with five touchdowns. Cobi Hamilton leads the Arkansas receivers with 46 catches and four touchdowns and Brandon Mitchell has 15 catches. Defensively Arkansas allows 31 points per game, 130 rushing yards, and 304.6 passing yards with four interceptions and 17 sacks. Alonzo Highsmith has 54 tackles, Ross Rasner has 51 tackles, and Rohan Gaines has 46 tackles. Arkansas enters this game at 3-4 with plenty of tough games still in front of them.

The Ole Miss Rebels aren’t all the way back to prominence yet they are greatly improved and are headed in the right direction. QB Bo Wallace has completed 63.7 percent of his passes with nine touchdowns and he has also rushed for five touchdowns. Jeff Scott leads Ole Miss in rushing averaging 6.1 yards per carry with five touchdowns and Randall Mackey is averaging 4.8 yards per carry with three touchdowns. Donte Moncrief has 31 catches and five touchdowns to lead the Rebels’ receivers, Ja-Mes Logan has 19 catches, and Vince Sanders has 17 catches. Defesively Ole Miss has some work to do as they allow 26.6 points per game, 145.3 rushing yards, and 210.7 passing yards with eight interceptions and 19 sacks. Denzel Nkemdiche  and Cody Prewitt each have 44 tackles and Mike Marry has 39 tackles. Ole Miss has won the games they should win and have come up short of pulling any upsets.

Arkansas is 16-7 against the spread in their last 23 SEC games, 19-9 against the spread in their last 28 games following a win, and 1-4 against the spread in their last five games following a bye week. Ole Miss is 4-0 against the spread in their last four games overall, 5-11 against the spread in their last 16 SEC games, and 3-8 against the spread against a team with a losing record. The home team had covered the spread I the last four meetings of these two.

This should be a high scoring game and could come right down to the wire and having the points to work with seems to be a nice option to have in a competitive game.
