For the season Minor has allowed 88 hits and 59 earned runs while striking out 72 over 85.2 innings of work for a 6.20 ERA.

On the mound Paul Maholm allowed eight hits and a run while striking out five over six innings for his sixth win of the year. For the season Garza has allowed 78 hits and 40 earned runs while striking out 80 over 89.2 innings of work for a 4.01 ERA.

Atlanta is 1-5 in their last six games as a home favorite, 12-5 in their last 17 Thursday games, and 1-4 in Minor’s last five home starts. Chicago is 5-1 in their last six games overall, 5-23 in their last 28 road games against a left handed starter, and 1-6 in Garza’s last seven road starts.

The Braves have run hot and cold all season and right now they are cold but they get the win here.
