Oklahoma City Thunder vs. San Antonio Spurs

The San Antonio Spurs have gone from the favorites in the playoffs, to one game from elimination as the Spurs have suffered three straight losses at the hands of the Thunder, and now the Spurs face elimination on Wednesday.  The Thunder are -4 point favorites over the Heat with an over/under point total set at 201.5.

The Oklahoma City Thunder have found themselves in the driver’s seat in the Western Conference Finals this season as the Thunder have come back from two games down to the Spurs, to take a 3-2 series lead over San Antonio. The Thunder defeated the Spurs in their last outing on Monday, 108-103 in San Antonio. Leading the way for the Thunder over the Spurs on Monday was Kevin Durant who finished with 27 points. Westbrook was also a big factor for the Thunder as Westbrook finished with 23 points and 12 assists on the night, while Harden off the bench was also solid for OKC, contributing 20 points to the win.

The San Antonio Spurs had once won 20 straight games after taking games one and two in their series with the Thunder, but the Spurs have since lost their groove and have since dropped three straight and now face possible elimination on Wednesday. The Spurs were competitive throughout Monday’s match-up with the Thunder, and even made a late run trying to close the gap in the fourth quarter. The Spurs just didn’t have enough in the tank however as keeping up with the trio of Durant, Westbrook and Harden has been proving too much for San Antonio lately. If the Spurs are going to get the win on Wednesday, San Antonio will have to avoid another shootout and try and slow down this Thunder attack.

The Thunder have struggled down in San Antonio lately, however OKC was able to come away with a win on Monday from the Spurs home court, which should put even more confidence behind the trio of Durant, Westbrook and Harden on Wednesday.

The Spurs definitely have a shot here, but the Thunder have played outstanding ball at home this season. The line has grown some since it has opened, but I still think there is some value here with OKC as the Thunder have been almost unbeatable at home. The Spurs will throw everything they have at the Thunder on Wednesday, but in the end I like OKC to get the win and the cover over San Antonio.
