San Antonio Spurs vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
The Oklahoma City Thunder return home looking to get one back on the red hot San Antonio Spurs in Game 3 on Thursday night. The Thunder are -4 point favorites over the Spurs with an over/under point total set at 206.5.
Head to head, the Spurs are 8-3 ATS in the last 11 meetings and 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Oklahoma City. The Thunder are 16-6 ATS in their last 22 games as a favorite of 0.5-4.5 and 6-2-1 ATS in their last 9 games overall, but just 2-6 ATS in their last 8 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600. The spurs on the other hand are 7-1 ATS in their last 8 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 18-7-3 ATS in their last 28 road games, but just 18-7-3 ATS in their last 28 road games.
San Antonio dominated Oklahoma City in Game 2 for there 10th straight playoff win and 20th straight overall. Not only that, but the Spurs have now won 33 of their last 35 games, which is just unheard of. Tony Parker and company are playing at such a high level at the moment that I think it would be an upset if they didn’t win the whole thing. Plus, it’s not like they are playing some easy beats in the Thunder, a team that took care of last two NBA champions in Dallas and Los Angeles in nine games.
I’m really torn on this pick. I do think the Thunder will bounce back and get the win tonight, but it wouldn’t surprise me if they only won by two points or so. Natural instinct would be to take the home team facing a 2-0 deficit, however when was the last time you saw a team playing as well as the Spurs have been? If they go on to win it all, which they will, this team could go down as one of the all time great ‘teams’, that’s just how good they are. OKC are a great team they could get the win and cover tonight, but I’m not going against the Spurs until they give me a reason too.
