Los Angeles Clippers vs. San Antonio Spurs
The San Antonio Spurs are establishing themselves as the favorite to win the NBA title this season as the Spurs are rolling their way through the playoffs. The Spurs are -5 point favorites over the Clippers with an over/under point total set at 193.
The Los Angeles Clippers really need a win on Saturday to avoid going down three games to none to the Spurs, which in this case would basically give the Clippers zero chance at advancing. The Clippers really haven’t been competitive in this series yet, however with the Spurs now heading to the Clippers own turf, Los Angeles will be looking to turn the tide. The Clippers fell to the Spurs 105-88 in their last outing with star forward Blake Griffin leading the way with 20 points on the night.
The San Antonio Spurs are starting to get more “pub” now, which is funny because the Spurs have been one of the top teams, and my pick to come out of the West since just after the all star break. The Spurs are cruising through the playoffs right now, and if San Antonio can get a win in Los Angeles on Saturday, the Spurs will be in prime position. San Antonio was led by Tony Parker in their last outing with the Clippers as Parker finished with 22 points on the night, however four other Spurs also finished with double digit points.
The Clippers are a miserable 2-22 in their last 24 games against the Spurs, and Los Angeles is just 3-13 against the spread in their last 16 games against San Antonio. The Spurs are an impressive 5-1-1 against the spread in their last seven games, and the Spurs have won ten of their last 11 games on the road against the Clippers.
I get that this game is being played in Los Angeles, but I just can’t see the line being this low. The Spurs have the look of a team on a mission, and even though the Clippers are good enough to win one or two games in this series, the Spurs have dominated in Los Angeles, and with the Spurs style of play, I just don’t see the Clippers getting a win or cover here on Saturday.
