Portland Trailblazers vs. New Jersey Nets
The Portland Trail Blazers collide with Deron Williams and the New Jersey Nets. The Trail Blazers are -8 point favorites over the Nets with an over/under point total set at 196.5.
Head to head, the road team is 6-2 ATS in the last 8 meetings and the underdog is 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings. The Trail Blazers are 10-4-1 ATS in their last 15 games as a home favorite of 5.0-10.5 and 17-8-1 ATS in their last 26 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400, but just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games. The Nets on the other hand are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games as a road underdog of 5.0-10.5, 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games playing on 0 days rest and 4-0 ATS in their last 4 games overall.
Anyone that reads my articles on a regular basis knows I harp on about this all the time, but the New Jersey Nets are a good road team. Even though they didn’t get the win against the Lakers last night, they are 12-17 straight up on the road, which is quite amazing see as their overall record is 19-36. The Trail Blazers on the other hand still own a very good home record, however most of those wins at the Rose Garden were from the start of the season when they were actually good. It’s pretty clear that Portland is looking toward the future now.
Bottom line, the Trail Blazers don’t really deserve to be eight point favorites against anyone in the league other than maybe the Charlotte Bobcats. This is New Jersey’s fourth straight road game, however they had two days to rest before the Lakers game last night so fatigue shouldn’t really be an issue here. I could go on more, but this is just too many points I’m afraid.
