Phoenix Suns vs. Sacramento Kings

The Phoenix Suns travel to Sacramento tonight to face the Kings.  The Suns are -2 point favorites over the Kings with an over/under point total set at 215.

Head to head, the Home team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings and the underdog is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The Kings are 17-7 ATS in their last 24 games as an underdog, but just 1-5 ATS in their last 6 vs. NBA Pacific and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Suns on the other hand are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400, 5-0 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite and 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games overall.

Even though the Suns own a losing road record and the Kings own a winning home record, I really like Phoenix in this one. Sacramento did pick up another win at Arco Arena last night against an undermanned Timberwolves squad, however that was just their second win in their last seven outings. Plus, they might be without leading scorer in Marcus Thornton as he left last night’s game in the first quarter after suffering a bruised left thigh.

Despite the Suns average road record, they have actually played well against teams with sub .500 records recently, including their 98-84 win over the Kings in Sacramento near the middle of February. Like I touched on earlier, Sac-Town is decent at home, however they are the kind of team to relax after getting victory. With this being the Suns first of three road games, plus the fact that they are in the playoff hunt, they can’t afford to drop this game and they won’t.
