Phoenix Suns vs. Los Angeles Lakers

The Phoenix Suns return home to face Kobe Bryant and the Los Angeles Lakers.  The Suns are -1 point favorites over the Lakers with an over/under point total set at 198.5.

Head to head, the home team is 3-1-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The Suns are 9-2 ATS in their last 11 home games, 6-2 ATS in their last 8 games playing on 0 days rest and 15-6 ATS in their last 21 games overall. The Lakers on the other hand are 6-0 ATS in their last 6 games as a road underdog of 0.5-4.5 and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 road games, but just 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games overall.

The Lakers have gotten better as the season has gone on, however the fact remains that they still have a losing record on the road at 12-15, which is a long way from their 23-6 record at Staples Center. The Suns on the other hand are 16-11 at home and only sit one game above .500, but we can all agree they are playing much better than a .500 team at the moment.

As far as situations go, we have a pretty even match here. Both teams are coming off losses last night and both teams will be playing in their fourth game in five nights. If anything, it should favor the Suns because of their depth, while the Lakers have one of the thinnest benches in the league. Kobe does love torching Phoenix for whatever reason, however I still think the Suns get over the line here. In all honesty, you could make a good case for both teams here, however I just think Phoenix at home battling for a playoff spot pulls it out.
