Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns look to continue their home dominance as they host Kevin Durant and the Oklahoma City Thunder. The Thunder are -3.5 point favorites over the Suns with an over/under point total set at 207.
Head to head, the Thunder are 12-4 ATS in the last 16 meetings in Phoenix, while the road team is 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings. The Suns are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games as a home underdog and 13-3 ATS in their last 16 home games, but just 3-8 ATS in their last 11 home games vs. a team with a winning road record. The Thunder on the other hand are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a SU loss of more than 10 points and 40-19-1 ATS in their last 60 games as a road favorite of 0.5-4.5, but just 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games.
The Suns are not to be messed with at home. Apart from their loss to the San Antonio Spurs, a team that seems to take down everybody away from home, Phoenix have now won six of thier last seven games at US Airways Center by an average of 14.1 points per game. In fact, the Suns have won 13 of their past 16 home games, with the other two losses by a comined five points. While Oklahoma City own one of the best road records in the business, they came up short in their last encounter in Los Angeles, falling the Clippers for the third time this season 92-77 on Monday night, which was their lowest scoring output of the season.
I said that you shouldn’t bet against them coming off a loss or in a rivarly game and I still stand by that. Phoenix have been light’s out at home, but I just can’t go against a Oklahoma City team coming off a big loss, which just happened to be their lowest game of the season. This game could be decided in the last minute, but I just feel more comfortable taking the Thunder coming off a big loss.
