Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Chicago Bulls

The two top teams in their respective conference collide on Sunday as the Oklahoma City Thunder host the Derrick Rose-less Chicago Bulls.  The Thunder are -5.5 point favorites over the Bulls with an over/under point total set at 194.

Head to head, the Bulls are 7-3 ATS in the last 10 meetings and 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings in Oklahoma City, while the road team is 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings. The Thunder are 18-5 ATS in their last 23 vs. Eastern Conference and 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games overall, but just 1-6 ATS in their last 7 home games vs. a team with a road winning % of greater than .600. The Bulls on the other hand are 5-0 ATS in their last 5 road games vs. a team with a home winning % of greater than .600 and 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games overall.

If you didn’t know any better, you would think that Derrick Rose has been playing all season long the way Chicago have been piling up the wins. The Bulls improved to 17-3 over their last 20 games and 14-5 with Rose in the lineup after their 83-71 win over the Detroit Pistons on Friday night. The Thunder have been no slouches themselves as they are currently riding a five game winning streak and only trail the league leading Bulls by only one game in the overall standings.

Having gone 17-3 in their last 20 overall, it’s pretty amazing what the Bulls have been able to achieve without the reigning MVP in the lineup. Despite all of this, Oklahoma City is playing the best basketball out of anyone in the league in the past week and a bit, taking down their last five opponents by an average of 14.2 points per game, which include games against Miami and the two teams from Los Angeles. I expect a great game today, but missing Rose will hurt against the West’s best here.
