Minnesota Timberwolves vs. Los Angeles Clippers

The red hot Los Angeles Clippers look to make light work of the Minnesota Timberwolves tonight.  The Clippers are -5.5 point favorites over the Timberwolves with an over/under point total set at 196.

Head to head, the Clippers are 5-2 ATS in the last 7 meetings and 5-1 ATS in the last 6 meetings in Minnesota, while the underdog is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings and the Road team is 4-0 ATS in the last 4 meetings. The Timberwolves are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 0 days rest, 1-5 ATS in their last 6 home games and 1-8 ATS in their last 9 games overall. The Clippers on the other hand are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games overall, but just 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games playing on 0 days rest and 7-18-1 ATS in their last 26 road games vs. a team with a losing home record.

For those of you that don’t know, Kevin Love suffered a concussion in the Timberwolves loss to the Nuggets last night and is expected to miss tonight’s game against the Clippers. It’s a shame because I really did like Minnesota in this game, but with Love out everything changes. Los Angeles opened as a 5.5 point favorite against Minnesota and the line still remains there, which is really odd considering Love is likely to be ruled out. You would think that the line would at least be taken down until we know for sure and that if he were indeed ruled out, the Clippers would now be at least a seven point favorite with all of the players sitting on the sideline for the home team.

With there thrilling two point win over Oklahoma City last night, Los Angeles have now won nine out of their last 11 overall, so they are one of the hotter teams going around. Still, I don’t trust this team on the road, especially coming off a big win like that. I really wanted to take Minnesota here, but it’s hard to feel confident with Love sitting out. I’m taking the Clipps here, but only cause I’m too scared to back the home team, if that makes sense.
