Golden St. Warriors vs. Dallas Mavericks

The Golden State Warriors head to Texas on Friday to face off against the defending champion Dallas Mavericks.  The Mavericks are -12.5 point favorites over the Warriors with an over/under point total set at 200.5.

The Dallas Mavericks haven’t quite lived up to expectations this year after winning the title last year, but the Mavs have still played good ball this season and have secured themselves a playoff spot in the West. The Mavs play solid ball all around as Dallas is ranked 12th in the league in points allowed per game with an average of 94.7, and the Mavs are scoring an average of 96 points per game this season. Dallas got back into the win column in their last outing as the Mavs defeated the Rockets 117-110 on Wednesday.

The Golden State Warriors will not be attending the playoffs this season as the Warriors currently have a record of just 22-39 on the year. Golden State can put points on the board as the Warriors are ranked 10th in the league in points scored per game this season with an average of 98.2, the Warriors just can’t stop anyone as Golden State is allowing 101.6. The Warriors head into Friday’s match-up with the defending champion Mavs having dropped their last six in a row, with their most recent loss coming at the hands of the Lakers 99-87 on Wednesday.

The Mavs are 4-2 overall in their last six games, and the total has gone over in five of the last six games for the Mavs. Dallas has also matched up well with the Warriors as Dallas is 9-1 in their last ten home games against Golden State.

This is a ton of points to be giving up here at home, and honestly I think it’s too much. The Warriors can put points on the board, and while Dallas should get another win here, I like the Warriors to cover this large spread.
