Sacramento Kings vs. New Jersey Nets
The New Jersey Nets look for their third straight win as they travel to Sacramento to face the Kings. The Kings are -6.5 point favorites over the Nets with an over/under point total set at 209.
Head to head, the Nets are 2-6 ATS in the last 8 meetings in Sacramento, while the favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings and the home team is 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The Kings are just 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games as a home favorite of 5.0-10.5, 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games overall. The Nets on the other hand are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games playing on 0 days rest, but just 0-4 ATS in their last 4 road games vs. a team with a winning home record and 2-5 ATS in their last 7 road games.
I like the Nets for a couple of reasons here. Even though New Jersey have lost their fair share of road games recently, the fact remains they are much better on the road than they are at home. After their 102-100 win against the Warriors last night, a game in which they trailed by as many as 19 points, the Nets improved to 11-16 on the road, compared to just 7-19 at home. Not only that, but they have now won three of their last four overall.
Sacramento on the other hand is coming off an impressive 104-103 win at Utah last night, thanks to the continued improved play of DeMarcus Cousins. The Kings are just 18-33 overall, yet they own a winning record at home and they have always been tough to beat at Arco Arena. Yet, this is a team with only one win in their last five overall.
With Deron Williams and Gerald Wallace leading the way, I think the Nets can continue their strong play tonight and at least stay within the number when it’s all said and done.
