Portland Trailblazers vs. Indiana Pacers
The Indiana Pacers look to avoid their fifth straight loss as they square off against the Portland Trail Blazers. The Pacers are -3.5 point favorites over the Trail Blazers with an over/under point total set at 191.5.
It’s been tough start to the month for a Pacers team that has dropped four straight games to fall to 23-16 overall. Indiana has struggled recently against the better teams in the competition and in fact they have dropped their last nine games to teams that currently have winning records. Before the four game skid, the Pacers did manage to rip of six consecutive wins, however they were all against teams with sub .500 records.
The Trail Blazers picked up a rare win in their last outing, downing the Washington Wizards 110-99 on Saturday for just their six win away from the Rose Garden this season. After their hot start to the season, Portland has really limped through February and now into March, winners of just two of their last seven games overall.
Head to head, the Trail Blazers are 3-12 ATS in the last 15 meetings and 2-6 ATS in the last 8 meetings in Indiana, while the favorite is 4-1 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The Pacers are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record, but just 2-9 ATS in their last 11 home games and 5-12 ATS in their last 17 games overall. The Trail Blazers on the other hand are 1-10 ATS in their last 11 games as an underdog of 0.5-4.5 and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games.
Here we have a poor road team coming up against a poor home team, against the spread wise anyway. Luckily for the Pacers, the Trail Blazers have a losing record coming into tonight’s game, so if history is correct then Indiana should get the win here. I don’t know how anyone could take Portland here and feel confident about it the way they have played on the road this season. Yes they did just beat Washington, but before that they trailed at Boston by 35 points at half time. Look for Indiana to break their losing streak tonight and ultimately get the cover as well.
