Orlando Magic vs. San Antonio Spurs

The Orlando Magic will be looking to keep pace with the Miami Heat in the Southeast division on Wednesday when the Magic pay a visit to the Spurs in San Antonio.  The Spurs are -5.5 point favorites over the Magic with an over/under point total set at 191.

The San Antonio Spurs are currently up in their division by three and a half games over the Memphis Grizzlies, but the Spurs need to keep their winning ways up, as their division is far from locked up at this point. The Spurs have the fourth ranked offense in the league this season as point guard Tony Parker is leading the attack with an average of 19.8 points per game, as well as 7.9 assists per game at this point.

The Orlando Magic currently trail he Miami Heat by four games, and a win against a talented Spurs team, in Texas on Wednesday might be what the Magic need to forget about this Dwight Howard trade ordeal and focus on winning and catching the Heat. The Magic are the opposite of the Spurs as Orlando has the fourth ranked scoring defense in the league, giving up an average of just 91.9 points per game.

The Spurs have been a strong play as of late as the Spurs are an impressive 14-5-1 against the spread in their last 20 games, and the Spurs have played well against the Magic lately as well as San Antonio is 14-7 in their last 21 games against the Magic overall. For how good the Spurs have been again the spread lately, the Magic have struggled on the road as Orlando is just 1-4 against the spread in their last five road games.

The Magic have the talent to not only cover the line here, but make a run at the win outright. I just don’t’ see it happening as the Spurs have the ability to play solid defensively when needed, and I just don’t think that Orlando has the firepower required here.
