New Jersey Nets vs. Indiana Pacers

The Indiana Pacers look for the series sweep against the New Jersey Nets tonight.  The Pacers are -5 point favorites over the Nets with an over/under point total set at 193.5.

Head to head, the Pacers are 8-2 ATS in the last 10 meetings and 6-0 ATS in the last 6 meetings in New Jersey, while the favorite is 19-7 ATS in the last 26 meetings and the road team is 5-0 ATS in the last 5 meetings. The Nets are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600 and 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games overall. The Pacers on the other hand are 4-9 ATS in their last 13 games following a SU win of more than 10 points and 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a losing S.U. record.

For whatever reason, the Nets are just horrible at home this season. At 6-19, New Orleans is the only other team in the league with a worse home record. Not only did New Jersey lose to New Orleans and Washington by a combined 29 points at home recently, but they couldn’t even stay within 20 points of a visiting Utah team that was coming off a four overtime marathon just the night before.

It does scare me that Indiana have won all three meetings against the Nets this season to make it 10 straight overall. However, how can you make a strong case for New Jersey in this one the way they have performed at home this season. I actually think the Nets could very well cover the number here, but I’m not game enough to pick them, so I’ll stick with the Pacers.
